Speaking Swedish on my vacation
Aug 23, 2024I went on a vacation to Sweden this summer, so in January I decided to learn Swedish.
Quickly the first lesson of Duolingo was completed and I listened to podcasts to improve my pronunciation.
However, my progress suddenly stopped. I realized I was not learning the words and phrases I needed for my trip.
I am interested in knowing how to order a cup of coffee and how to pronounce 'fika' correctly. I don't want to learn about random things like my sister's pets, especially since she has none
Learning a new language takes time, and it can be even more challenging to stay motivated.
Even though many Swedes speak English well, I still want to be able to communicate with the locals in Swedish.
I want to be able to buy fruits like 'äpplen, päron och jordgubbar' at the local market, and understand the information at bus stops or whether a campsite is open or maybe fully booked.
Can you relate to what I'm saying?
Have you ever tried to learn Dutch but lost motivation along the way? Maybe you didn't learn the useful things or lacked confidence in speaking Dutch. Perhaps you didn't practice speaking Dutch at all. Let me help you. Take a moment to relax.
What will keep you motivated to speak Dutch with confidence?
Let me know and make an appointment here, and I will keep you in good spirits!
PS: the only words I said in Swedish during my vacation were ‘tack, ja and nej’…
